No Tickling Before Breakfast

Brian & Simmi's Wedding Blog

Mañana

Amárach. Domani. Demain. Tomorrow.

Bloody hell, it's nearly upon us!

We spent yesterday in a mad whirl through West London. First we saw the caterers at their office in Wembley, then we picked up my brother, also in Wembley and headed for North Ealing to pick up the suits. After that, and a well-deserved pint in Duffy's Bar, we headed on down to Hounslow to see the registrar. The lady that was going to conduct the wedding - Deniece - isn't well, so we'll be married by another nice lady called Debbie Smith.

Having had our meeting with Debbie and the assistant registrar Tracy, we headed for Syon Park for the wedding rehearsal. We met Simmi's parents, my parents, Ant and Rod there and we all were shown round by Beckie and Margaret who are the Syon House event rganisers and they put myself, Simmi, Dev, Ant, Rod (the music maestro) and Tony through our steps (rather slow ones at that!).

I must say, that having done that bit, it's all feeling rather real now.

Afterwards we all went to the Botanist on the Green at Kew, where we were met by Chris and Tony's wife Sarah. We had a lovely meal there (I had ostrich - yum!), and then I said goodbye to Simmi knowing that the next time I see her will be at 4pm at Syon House in all our finery.

Are you as excited as us yet?

Five Days To Go!

Blimey, is that all?

It's busy, busy at our (not very) secret SE7 hideaway.

Simmi's been busily folding and sticking card & paper, and tying ribbons. I've been busily printing all sorts of things.

I also wrote my speech yesterday, which was quite a fun process really. Be prepared for a veritable feast of verbal excellence.

And then I'll stand up to speak!

But, we have got a bit of a problem in that our car went in for an MOT and service on Thursday but it failed the MOT due to some sort of emissions problem, and although the garage have been looking into over the weekend, they still can't find the cause of the problem. This is a bit of a pain as Simmi had planned to do a lot of buzzing around from place to place today getting bits & pieces for Saturday.

So, Simmi's carrying on with her folding, sticking, etc. and we're waiting for the call from the garage. Fingers crossed!

Reminder of Stag & Hens Shenanigans

Blimey, is that the time? It's September already! Best get our skates on...

As you might imagine, we've been getting busier in the last few weeks.

You'll all be glad to hear that it looks like the booze is sorted. Biggest round I'll ever buy, so you'd best be there for it.

Simmi's been organising all sorts of arcane stuff, while I've been busy designing and printing things for the Ceremony & Reception. We've both been looking into what music should be played before and during the ceremony and I think we may have a cunning plan on that one...

Also, I finally got around to updating the Wedsite with links to pictures (and a couple of fillums) of the Stag & Hen Weekends. Was up till 1.30am this morning doing it. Those of you who are still YouTube virgins be warned, it takes bloody ages to upload video clips!

Simmi's planning to get some of the girls over tomorrow to help her tie ribbons around the Orders of the Day and Menus. After doing more of my work for the BoruSimru Design & Printworks, I may well be making a well-deserved escape to the pub to watch some European Qualifiers.

Come on you Boys in Green!
